Hey, delegates! My name is Sofia Roldan and I am currently a senior at the International School of Panama. I am very honored to be one of the chairs of this year’s UNICEF committee and look forward to meeting each and every one of you. I was originally born in Boston, however, because of my parent’s work, we had to move several times and ended up living all over the world. This is now going to be my third year in Panama City. Ever since I started my MUN experience as a freshman in high school, I’ve loved debating and the experience that comes along with it as well. This conference is a great opportunity to learn from different perspectives and develop various skills such as public speaking and critical thinking. Apart from debate, I enjoy reading, playing tennis, and spending time with my family and friends. I am more than excited to meet you in October and ensure you have the best experience so far! Best of luck to all and hope to see you soon!
Hello delegates, welcome to PANAMUN XXX! My name is Valentina Benitez, I am 16 years old and currently a Junior at the International School of Panama. I consider myself Venezuelan. I was born in Caracas and have since lived in Brazil, Switzerland, and the US until I moved to Panama five years ago. In my free time I enjoy playing soccer, listening to music, and spending time with my friends and family. I am very honored to be a chair for UNICEF during this year’s conference and I am very excited to meet all of you. This will be my third PANAMUN conference but it will be my first time being a chair. I participated as a delegate in both 9th and 10th grade, however, due to the pandemic my 9th grade experience was online. These last few years of gaining experience as a delegate have taught me the importance of standing up for what you believe is right and PANAMUN gives you that opportunity. It has made me fall in love with debating and I hope I can share my passion with all of you. I am looking forward to making this an entertaining, welcoming, learning, and fun experience for each and every one of you. Good luck and see you soon!
