Hi, delegates! My name is Mia Cochez, I’m a senior at the International School of Panama. I am very excited and honored to be one of your chairs for the International Court of justice committee. I was born in Panama and have been in ISP since 8th grade, this year being my 5th year attending this school. I had my first experience in debate as a freshman in PANAMUN, where I realized I enjoyed challenging myself by putting my debate skills to the test and expanding my public speaking skills. Debate has helped me a lot throughout the years expanding my knowledge in varying global topics. One of my most memorable experiences in debate was when I had the opportunity to travel to The Hague and attend the THIMUN conference in January of 2024. It was a very nerve racking experience at first, but it made me grow personally, teaching me the importance of meeting people and expressing my ideas and thoughts freely. I also like to spend most of my time dancing and expressing myself artistically, my after school activities being filled by physical movement using it as an active escape from school duties. I am very enthusiastic to be sharing this experience with all of you, watching how you guys evolve and find yourselves through the debate. Can't wait to start this year's PANAMUN XXXIII and be able to meet you all!
