Hello everyone!

My name is Victor Veloso, and for this year’s PANAMUN XXXIV I am grateful to serve as one of the Deputy Secretary Generals of Special Committees of the conference. I am 17 years old and in my junior year at the International School of Panama. Furthermore, I am from Brazil, being born and raised there for 8 years, and I have also lived in Panama for over 8 years. This will be my seventh MUN conference, with it being my fifth PANAMUN, with the other MUN conferences I have attended being THIMUN and GMUN. Beyond PANAMUN I am an avid sports enthusiast and athlete, especially football/soccer, I also enjoy travelin the world and eating all kinds of food.

My experience in MUN began all the way back in 6th grade. My mom forced me to join PANAMUN in middle school despite my reservations. Despite the rough start, I quickly learned to love and enjoy MUN debate as I represented Syria in the MS UNPBC. MUN since then has become an inherent part of me as one of my main passions. This passion has even led me to participate in foreign conferences such as THIMUN in The Hague, Netherlands and GMUN in São Paulo, Brazil. Throughout my journey I have learned and grown both as a person and debater as I connected and networked with people from all over the globe. Furthermore, the many skills I have learned, such as public speaking and research, are ones I still actively use them in my life and will continue to rely on in the future. As a DSG in this year’s conference I wholly hope to ensure that debate is fruitful, professional and entertaining for as many delegates as possible while they cultivate their collaborative spirits in order to ensure a better world for us all.
