Luciana Mendez

Hello, Delegates! It is my pleasure to welcome you to the marvelous experience that will be PANAMUN XXXIV. My name is Luciana Mendez and I am currently a Sophomore at the International School of Panama. I am really looking forward to being your chair for the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which is a unique and interesting committee that I am sure will bring a great debate. I am originally from Medellin, Colombia, however, I moved to Chile when I was five and lived there for nine years. I moved to Panama at the very beginning of 2026 and though I haven’t spent much time here, I consider it my home. I am extremely passionate about MUN, with my first conference being in 6th grade where I fell in love with the debate in the general assembly committee. Since then, I have attended eight different conferences in Santiago and around the world, having come to PANAMUN twice before I even went to this school, where I won two best delegate awards and began to really appreciate how amazing and organized the conference was. MUN has been a key part of my life, teaching me how to be a responsible and creative member of my community and the world. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, reading, and spending quality time with my friends and family, particularly by the beach. Now that I get to be a part of the incredible work that is put into the success of this conference, I am beyond excited to be your chair and help you discover that your voice does have the power to change the world. I promise to do everything I can to ensure that this experience is constructive, inclusive and well structured to bring out the best in your own abilities. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to reach out to me or my co-chair, we are here to help!

Alejandro Vega

Hello delegates, my name is Alejandro Vega. I am a sophomore at the International School of Panama. I am honored to be one of your chairs for the International Court of Justice (ICJ) at PANAMUN XXXIV. I was born in Atlanta, Georgia. I later moved to Colombia, where I lived until I was eight. After that, I moved to Panama, where I have lived since. My first MUN experience was last year at PANAMUN XXXIII. I represented Russia in the ECOSOC committee. My interest in MUN grew after that. I later participated in METMUN and then joined PANAMUN XXXIV as a chair. In my free time, I enjoy sports like track, American football, and volleyball, and going outside with my friends. As you may know, in MUN we address global issues, and delegates hold different perspectives. I expect you to treat all delegates with respect. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me or my co-chair. I look forward to seeing all of you at the conference!
