Hi Delegates! It is such a huge honor to be your chair for PANAMUN XXXIII, representing the Chair of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
My name is Maria Victoria Saez Alvarez, and I'm a sophomore at ISP. I am Panamanian-Puertorican; however, I've lived all my life here. My first PANAMUN conference was in 6th grade; initially, I had been adamant about participating due to an already busy schedule at the time. But my social studies teacher and middle school MUN coordinator at the time ended up signing me up without me knowing. In hindsight it was for the best; PANAMUN taught me valuable skills that I wouldn't have learned another way. But the most important thing I've gotten from MUN debates is I became passionate for international relations and global politics, which is what I plan to study when I graduate—and hopefully become a diplomat for the United Nations. Apart from MUN, my hobbies include playing musical instruments (I can play 3), art, literature, and dance. I'm looking forward to moderating all of you and making the best experience out of PANAMUN for all of you!
