Hello Delegates! My name is Juan Diego Oblitas. I am currently a Junior at the International School of Panama, and I am honored to be one of your chairs for PANAMUN XXXIV this year in the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime(UNODC) Committee. I was born in Panama, where I have lived all my life, although my family is Peruvian. In 7th grade, I participated in my first PANAMUN conference, being a delegate for MS UNSC, where I truly discovered a passion for debating. Since then, I have participated in 3 more PANAMUN conferences, two as a delegate and one as a chair, during which my passion for debate grew even stronger. In those conferences, I developed and improved important skills in terms of diplomacy, learning how to debate properly. My first time being a chair in PANAMUN taught me a lot, making me grow as a leader who can guide others to grow out of their comfort zones and take risks. In my free time, I enjoy playing sports, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. MUN is a way to allow your voice to be heard and develop solutions to some of the world’s most alarming problems. I promise to try my best to ensure an engaging and most importantly fun debate! I am looking forward to meeting all of you soon and making this PANAMUN an unforgettable experience!
